This may very well be our last podcast of 2009, so enjoy. We will back in the new year, shortly before all your tv shows and comic books come back from hiatus.
Hey lady's just saw Avatar for my birthday....anyway my impressions, and spoilers...
Yes I get it alien indian/elven/hippy culture one with the land blah blah blah
Science babble to explain it blah blah blah.
When are the marines going to get here and whip nightcrawlers ass?
Oh look there here! Bye bye big tree mwahahahahahahaha!
Wait were are you guys going?
Dammit! now I have to watch long heavy handed drawn out Cameron scenes of the natives mourning there loss, get back there and finish them off dammit! I don't want to set here through all this, these 3d glasses are already giving me a headache.
(I've been playing a lot of Overlord II lately so maybe that had some impact on my watching this film.)
Seriously though I think Bendis said it best on his board.
"spectacle like no ones bidness, heavy handed themes laid down with a sledgehammer, and if he ever wrote an intelligent line of dialogue it would die of loneliness."
Also if you want to understand another culture maybe you should fall back on the same tired plot cliche of "white man comes to save the natives".
But hey it was pretty to look at in 3d, and I got some free glasses out of the deal.
