Footnote: It wasn't until after we recorded that I found out the next Zod on Smallville will be Callum Blue, whom Laura has seen in person before and enjoyed. She didn't remember this while disparaging him during the actual podcast.

I would like to point out that my enjoyment of Callum Blue when I saw him had nothing to do with his appearance or acting ability, so my opinion of his casting as Zod still stands.
