Happy Team America Day!

What better way to celebrate America's independence than by reading our website?

This weekend I had a painting in the art show entitled "America: F#ck Yeah!". It was at Junctionview Studios, presented by ARTillery. The theme, as you can guess, was "over the top Americana."

There was free beer and BBQ, fireworks, and the bands Red Sun, White Wolves, and Ride to Ruin -- all of which I missed because I had to work. I did have time to dash through and snap off a few pictures of my favorites in the show, which was pretty much everything:

Pamela Ashten, "Starburst"; Donna Estep, "Uncle Sam Wants You"; Wince, "America Terrorizes Itself"; Blake Sauner, "OG Lincoln" (prints are $10); Tricia Maguire, "Untitled"

Donna Estep, "Frankenfive"; Agnes Burress, "Of Thee I Sing"; Pamela Ashten, "American Badass"

Jay Moffett, "In Dog We Trust"; Simone Schiffmacher, "Double Down"; Chad Kessler, "Live Slow, Die Fat"

Katie Kikta (Magnets were $5); Amy Neiwirth, "Sir Phillip Reginald Frankfurter III"; Andrew Delong, Congressman doll. Box says: "Be like a real lobbyist -- buy your own Congressman."; Anthony Tank Mansfield, "Keep Them Afraid and Keep Them Divided"; Amy Neiwirth, "Untitled"

Uriah Landfried, collages various and wondrous.

Amy Neiwirth, "Dog to Weiners," Jessie Mills, "Gas Pump"

Arlo Moon, "Bird," Brenda Kirk, "Colbert Pie," Bethany Butler, "PBR Me ASAP"

In the foreground on the left: Kathryn Nova Williams, "Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are About to Descend into Los Angeles."

Thanks to ARTillery for always having such kickass events (they put on Papergirl Columbus in May.) If I messed up anybody's name or credit, give me a holla in the comments!
