She-Ra: By the power of marketing!

For those of you who had a day off today due to the American holiday: How's that going? Good? Well, it's about to get better.

Back in 2006, the animated cartoon She-Ra (Princess of Power!) started being released on DVD. Unfortunately, due to the production company falling on hard times, I don't think the full show run was ever put out on home video. FORTUNATELY, that is about to change. Vivendi Entertainment is releasing the entire series in one spectacular box set, available September 7th. It will include all 93 episodes on 10 discs, an iron-on t-shirt decal, a mini comic, "and much, much more!" (Which usually means: not much more.)

This is supposed to coincide with She-Ra's 25th anniversary, so in addition to the DVD collection, Mattel is going to have a special She-Ra action figure at their booth during San Diego Comic Con next month. No word on what's happening with Princess Adora's brother, Whassisface Guy, and his movie or whatever.

This is excellent news. I already have the 60 or so episodes that have already been released, but I'll probably by this anyway, because I love She-Ra that much.

I'm excited about new action figures. I hope it's a real action figure and not a doll. That'd be lame.

I'll share this here as a public service: There's one coming out as part of the Mattel Masters of the Universe line also. Sadly, the Princess Adora figure sold out before I could get one.

Damn, cool website. I actually came across this on Google, and I am happy I did. I will definately be revisiting here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just absorbing as much info as I can at the moment.
