Super Cute

In his latest column, Rich Johnston leaked news and art of an upcoming, though currently unscheduled, all ages comic from DC entitled "DCU Elementary." In it, all the heroes and villains of the DC Universe will be going to school together, and it looks adorable. Follow the link for more unbearable cuteness. Unfortunately, Johnston doesn't doesn't name the artist, which is a shame, because that person deserves a lot of love.

I'm not as into the all ages Johnny DC line as I am the Marvel Adventures line. I love Art Baltazar's art on "Tiny Titans," but I have to admit that the humor falls flat with me. Maybe it's because I'm not really a DC girl at heart, since I adore Chris Giarrusso's "Mini Marvels", and it's in a similar vein. If "Tiny Titans" were just cute little comic strips in the back of the regular comics, I might feel differently too. Overrall though, I'd characterize the Johnny DC line as being humor comics with superheroes, whereas the Marvel Adventures line is superhero comics with humor, and I like that better.

"DCU Elementary" looks too cute to pass up though. Seeing all the little kid versions of the characters, with their little tongues sticking out, just kills me. There's also the "Supergirl's Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade Comic" coming out, which I cannot wait for.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Mini-Marvels (just picked up Rock, Paper Scissors, which rocks) and this looks kinda cool. I'd check it out!
