More Bad Ideas From Hollywoodland

According to the Hollywood Reporter, MGM is looking to remake "Red Dawn" and "RoboCop." True fact: About halfway through "Iron Man," I started getting this strange desire to watch "RoboCop." Maybe the MGM executives aren't as dumb as they seem...except for the whole remaking "Red Dawn" thing. There's no way to make that a good idea.

Believe it or not, I think a "RoboCop" remake could be good. It won't be good, but it could be. First of all, MGM needs to get Alex Proyas to direct it. Then MGM needs to get out of his way so the movie ends up more "Dark City" than "I, Robot." They should just keep Peter Weller as RoboCop too. Remember the third movie, and how it sucked? Peter Weller wasn't in it. I don't think that's a coincidence. Also, they probably shouldn't let Frank Miller have anything to do with the movie, because the second one wasn't all that good either.

Of course, the movie will probably be directed by McG or Brett Ratner, which is how these things work. What is clear is that now is obviously the perfect time to pitch my idea for a "Ladyhawke" remake. Viggo Mortensen would have to star. It's Viggo or no one. And Rutger Hauer could play the Bishop. That's be pretty awesome, right?
